| My opponent begins by holding me in side control. I first make sure he cannot come over to mount by raising my right leg. |
| I start my escape by reaching both my hands under his arms and onto my hips. |
| I then turn my body towards him and escape my hips outward. |
| Once enough space is created, I slide my right shin across his belt line and face him, so that our bodies are in line. |
| I then place my feet on his hips and control both his arms with my hands. |
| I then close my guard around my opponent, completing the escape. |
